Farmactive Silver

Farmactive Silver Spray is a specialized powder dressing designed for the topical and temporary treatment of non-infected skin lesions, including cuts, abrasions, first and second-degree burns, and bedsores. This medical device creates a protective antimicrobial barrier that prevents bacterial contamination while managing wound exudate to foster an optimal microenvironment for natural healing. By combining absorbent properties with skin-restoring benefits, it helps reduce overall healing time and provides a soothing, pain-reducing application for sensitive or damaged skin.

To use the spray, first thoroughly clean and disinfect the affected area. Shake the 125ml container vigorously before use and hold it in a vertical position roughly 10–15 cm from the lesion. Apply the product in short, controlled bursts to evenly cover the wound with powder while minimizing air dispersion, then cover the site with a sterile gauze or plaster. The application should be repeated once or twice daily based on the wound's condition and after subsequent cleaning.

The formulation features two primary active components: colloidal silver, which provides broad antibacterial and antifungal protection, and hyaluronic acid sodium salt, which maintains essential moisture levels to support cell regeneration. These are suspended in a light complex of light kaolin and silicon dioxide, which act as absorbents to control wound fluids. A mixture of propellants is also included to facilitate the aerosolized powder delivery from the pressurized canister.
